Two losses in a row, one somewhat defensible and the other indefensible, have put the Falcons back under .500 and on their heels. That’s bad news with the toughest remaining schedule stretch approaching.
That starts with the New England Patriots, who the Falcons will travel to see on Sunday. Few teams are as hot as New England, led by Drake Maye’s strong play, a balanced roster, and a nice coaching job by Mike Vrabel and company. If Atlanta’s going to win, it’s going to take the caliber of effort we saw against Buffalo and maybe then some; they desperately need to get healthier before the game to stand a real chance.
