The Atlanta Falcons defense has been on fire since the first snap of this game, but this kind of start is even more than fans could have asked for. The Detroit Lions were driving to Atlanta’s 11-yard line, after a good slant route to Isaac TeSlaa converted a key first down in the red zone. However, after an unsuccessful 1st-down run, Arnold Ebiketie made his second flash play of the game, cleanly beating the right tackle and strip-sacking quarterback Hendon Hooker for his second turnover of the day. Ta’Quon Graham was ready for the recovery.
These young Falcons defenders have been moving with some fire throughout their first preseason action of 2025. Through 24 defensive plays, the Falcons have let up 86 yards and forced two turnovers and two punts on four drives.
Now, I am obligated to notify our readers that this is a preseason matchup, and is not a direct representation of what this year’s defense will look like.
However, after the lackluster effort given to last year’s defense under the then-defensive coordinator, Jimmy Lake, seeing Atlanta’s defense firing on all cylinders under Jeff Ulbrich has been a breath of fresh air.
