Bijan continues being as consistent as possible.
The Falcons put a halt to their losing streak this week, but it was during a performance in prime time which made the organization, team and fanbase feel anything but confident.
In Las Vegas, facing the hapless Raiders who had lost nine straight coming into this one, Atlanta’s offense played a disgusting game stuck in neutral, consistently failing to take advantage of the plus field positioning they kept getting from what was an inspired defensive and special teams effort.
Overall, it was once again a struggle if you were reliant on most Falcons in fantasy football, and at the worst possible time as this was the first round of the playoffs for most leagues. There is hope, however, as it was announced following the game that Atlanta was making the switch at quarterback, benching Kirk Cousins after yet another struggle fest. Big armed rookie Michael Penix figures to raise the fantasy ceiling of this offense.
There is a lot of great content available here at The Falcoholic, and I encourage you to check it out if you want some in-depth analysis. This article will look at things strictly from a fantasy football perspective (that means looking at nothing other than pure statistics). Here is Atlanta’s fantasy stud and fantasy dud from Week 15’s victory the Las Vegas Raiders.
Past Studs: Bijan Robinson (6), Darnell Mooney (2), Younghoe Koo (2), Drake London, Kirk Cousins, Kyle Pitts
Past Duds: Kirk Cousins (5), Kyle Pitts (3), Drake London (2), Tyler Allgeier, Darnell Mooney, Younghoe Koo
Stat Line: 22 carries, 125 rushing yards, 1 catch, 10 receiving yards: 13.5 standard league points; 14.5 PPR points
Another game, another Bijan Robinson feature in this part of the article. The explosive running back out of Texas has remained the steady metronome among running backs in fantasy football and the lifeblood of Atlanta’s offense, even in the midst of struggles, tallying yet another 100-yard rushing day.
The Falcons had just 261 yards of total offense, and did not enter the red zone once, with arguably league worst quarterback play continuing. Yet none of it mattered for Robinson, who kept finding creases in the defense and exploding through them.
Bijan remains in league winner territory and his ceiling somehow figures to get even higher, depending on what Penix can do as the team’s primary signal caller. Good quarterback play positively correlates with more points for running backs in fantasy and all Atlanta needs is for MPJ to not be a disaster for that upgrade to be fulfilled.
Keep firing Bijan up in your quest for a fantasy championship. A juicy matchup against the New York Giants during semi-final week is on the horizon.
Darnell Mooney: 0 catches, 0 receiving yards: 0.0 standard league/PPR points
Darnell Mooney has been an absolute gem of a find for fantasy football managers this year who either got him in the last round...
