The Falcoholic
That loss to the 49ers was a tough one, but as many sober-minded observers have pointed out, the Falcons being at 3-3 with their early season schedule is hardly a disaster. Now they have to win a bunch of games they’re supposed to win to make that start mean anything.
That begins with the Miami Dolphins, one of the two or three worst teams in football. They just got clobbered by the Cleveland Browns, another bad team, by a score of 31-6 and have only managed to beat the lowly Jets in 2025 thus far. Desperate, listless, and banged up, Miami is the kind of team you have to pummel if you want to stack wins in this league, and Atlanta has to show up and not suffer the kind of letdown they managed in that truly inexplicable loss to the Panthers.
After two straight primetime games, Atlanta heads back to the afternoon slate and gets one at home, where they’ve played better this year. Let’s hope they can exit this 4-3 and having ironed out some of the run defense and passing issues that doomed them against San Francisco.
