Three members of head coach Mike Vrabel’s roster were once in the fold for the Washington Commanders. Five members of head coach Dan Quinn’s roster were once in the fold for the New England Patriots.
Here’s a glance through those 90-man connections from past and present.
K.J. Osborn, wide receiver — The 28-year-old Osborn was claimed off waivers by the Commanders last December and made one appearance to end the season. Prior to then, he appeared in seven games as a member of the Patriots, starting the first four of the fall before becoming a healthy scratch. Osborn’s stint included seven receptions for 57 yards and also a touchdown while in London. Entering the NFL in the fifth round of the 2020 draft, the former transfer from Buffalo to Miami started 30 of his 59 games for the Minnesota Vikings. Wise played in 122 games and started 59 for New England. The Super Bowl LIII champion amassed 307 tackles, 34 sacks, 12 passes defended as well as five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and one touchdown along the way.
Jonathan Jones, cornerback — The longest tenure left on New England’s defensive side of the ball moved on in March, signing a one-year deal with Washington. The 31-year-old Jones joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent in 2016. In the regular season alone, the Auburn product proceeded to appear in 132 games, starting 71. The roles included gunner, nickelback, outside cornerback and safety, racking up 4,927 snaps on defense and 1,405 snaps on special teams.
