A former rookie wide receiver of the Pittsburgh Steelers could soon have a new home.

The Green Bay Packers recently hosted former Pittsburgh Steelers rookie wide receiver Roc Taylor for a visit, according to Aaron Wilson of Houston’s KPRC2.

Taylor, 23, entered the league as an undrafted free agent in the 2025 NFL Draft and showed promise with the Steelers during the summer, stacking several impressive practices at training camp.

However, Pittsburgh released the rookie wide receiver as part of its cuts to meet the NFL’s mandated 53-player limit. It was unfortunate because he thought he was just hitting his stride, too.

“Things are slowing down, for sure,” Taylor said. “Just trying to pick up the offense and learn the splits and terminology that they use. So it’s starting to slow down for me a lot.”

Taylor’s performance in the preseason didn’t do him any favors, though. He recorded just five catches for 77 yards on eight targets against the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, buried on the depth chart.

There’s an argument that Taylor’s production could have been a product of poor quarterback play. The Steelers signed veteran quarterback Logan Woodside to fill in for injured rookie Will Howard during the preseason.

Either way, Pittsburgh decided it had seen enough from Taylor, who has finally earned a potential second chance in the NFL.

Taylor played his collegiate football at Memphis, where he racked up 163 receptions for 2,375 yards and seven touchdowns from 2021-24.
