Ex-Steelers Coach Miffed by Packers Fans Taking Over Acrisure: ‘That’s Embarrassing’

Former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians sounded off on the Green Bay Packers faithful taking over Acrisure Stadium.

Opposing team fanbases rarely take over Acrisute Stadium. The only other time that there was a takeover was when the San Francisco 49ers played the Steelers in Week 1 in 2023. But even that wasn’t like Sunday night. It seemed like the entire population of Green Bay was in Pittsburgh.

“There was one thing that upset me watching that game,” Arians said on The Pat McAfee Show. “I’ve never seen the Steelers have to use a silent count at home. For the Steelers fans, that’s embarrassing. When you’ve got that many Packers fans in, I still call it Heinz Field, that’s unheard of. That was a bad sign for me.”

The Cheeseheads were out in full force to see their former quarterback Aaron Rodgers play. It was a disappointing night for the four-time MVP, however, as he failed to become one of five quarterbacks in NFL history to beat all 32 teams.

Rodgers gave a shout out to Packers fans after Sunday night’s loss. The “Go Pack Go” chants were heard throughout Acrisure Stadium.

“I’ve heard that chant for 18 years. Packers fans travel really well,” Rodgers said. “First time in a while I used silent count for a home game. That’s a credit to those Packers fans.”

Overall, it was a lackadaisical night for the Black and Gold. Rodgers wished he and the Steelers could have played better.

“Disappointed that I didn’t play better,” Rodgers said. “That we didn’t play better.”
