While the Green Bay Packers have tweaked their offseason program, their minicamp drew a former college head coach. EX-LSU on-field boss Brian Kelly was spotted at minicamp talking to Matt LaFleur and his dad, according to posts on X by
Matt Schneidman and Rob Demovsky.

Is there any meaning to this? Only time will tell.
Kelly recently accepted an unpaid position, taking a spot as an unofficial consultant with Memphis, according to commercialappeal.com. First-year head coach Charles Huff said input from a guy like Kelly is valuable because of the program’s direction.
“Obviously, we’re trying to move to the P4,” Huff said. “So I wanted some P4 eyes on everything so they could say, ‘Ok, here are areas where you may need to improve or adjust if you’re going to go P4.’ I got on a call with Brian, and we talked for about an hour. One of the things that he has seen grow are recruiting departments.
“And as they continue to change these rules, who can go on the road recruiting, it’s changing now. It’s not just the student that graduated that’s giving tours and opening doors for families now, it’s more like the NFL as far as the people that you want in that department. You’ve got to have a little bit more experience because that department is going to become more and more like the scouting department in the NFL.”
Kelly is reportedly consulting for multiple programs after he was fired by LSU in the middle of the 2025 season.
“Talking to him was really good, because there’s a lot of humility in him,” Huff said. “He’s like, ‘There were some things that I wish I did different.’ At that level, you don’t have a chance to go backwards. But that’s given me an opportunity to kind of think about some things that we may run into that we haven’t run into yet. So it’s been really good.”
