Ex-Jets Progress Report: Part 1 – Offense

Now that the bye week is here, it’s time to update you on former Jets players and how they’ve been faring with their current teams. We will cover this in three parts, looking at offense today, then defense and finally special teams over the next few days.

As ever, this list is intended to be exhaustive, but if we missed anyone, let us know in the comments.

Commanders:

Offensive lineman George Fant and quarterback Josh Johnson remain on Washington’s active roster but neither has played yet.

The Commanders just released wide receiver Robbie Chosen from their practice squad after a few weeks with the team. Chosen, formerly known as Robby Anderson, made one appearance and caught four passes for the Commanders.

Also: Tight end Lawrence Cager and running back Donovan Edwards remain on the practice squad but have not played yet.

Cowboys:

Dallas hasn’t had any ex-Jets players on offense since the season began.

Eagles:

Wide receiver and return specialist Xavier Gipson is now on the Eagles’ roster after a short stint with the Giants. He has caught one short pass and seen some work in the return game.

Tight end EJ Jenkins played in one game in a special teams role but remains on the practice squad.

Giants:

Guard Greg Van Roten has started every game on a Giants offensive line that struggled initially but has been sturdy since Andrew Thomas returned. Van Roten has given up three sacks and has two penalties so far.

Also: Gipson was also briefly with the Giants, but did not play.

Packers:

Running back Israel Abanikanda and wide receiver Mecole Hardman were both on the practice squad after final cuts but has since been released.

Vikings:

Running back Xazavian Valladay was on the practice squad but has since been released.

Bears:

The Bears haven’t had any ex-Jets players on offense since the season began.

Lions:

Wide receiver Kalif Raymond has played in seven games, starting two, and generated 77 yards on 10 touches. His best contributions have come on special teams, though.

Guard Trystan Colon was on the practice squad but has since been added to the active roster. He’s played seven offensive snaps so far this year.

Also: Tight end Kenny Yeboah remains on injured reserve.

Bucs:

The Bucs poached guard Dan Feeney off the Bills’ practice squad early in the season but he had only played one snap until recently. However, he started his first game of the year in week 8.

After un-retiring in the offseason, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has seen mop-up duty in a couple of games, but has not thrown a pass yet.

Saints:

The Saints are another player who haven’t had any former Jets on offense this season.

Panthers:

The Panthers recently added quarterback Mike White to their practice squad, but he hasn’t played yet this season.

Falcons:

Atlanta added offensive tackle Carter Warren to their practice squad after final cuts, but he hasn’t played for them yet.
