The former Colts head coach is rejoining the organization where he gained recognition before he came to Indy.
The Baltimore Ravens announced on Tuesday that former Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano is coming out of retirement to help coach the Baltimore Ravens defense as their new senior secondary coach under longtime head coach John Harbaugh:
The 64-year-old most notably served as head coach of the Colts, where he compiled a 53-43 career coaching record (.552) in six seasons, with 3 playoff appearances—most notably including a surprising deep run to the AFC Title Game back in 2014.
After being dismissed by Indianapolis, Pagano served as the defensive coordinator (2019-20) for the Chicago Bears before retiring from professional football coaching entirely.
Of course, Baltimore is no stranger to Pagano, who previously was their secondary coach (2008-10) and defensive coordinator (2011) prior to joining Indianapolis as head coach.
Even in retirement, Pagano has still been consistently active in the Indianapolis community with his annual ‘Chuckstrong Tailgate Gala’ which raised $1.5 million for IU cancer research last Spring—and he had remained a regular guest on the local ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ hosted by former Colts All-Pro punter turned national sports media personality Pat McAfee.
