Chris Olave might need to demand a trade.
The last thing he could afford right now is another big hit to his head and body.
Concussions heavily compromised Olave’s 2024 season.
The New Orleans Saints lead receiver has suffered a concussion every year he’s been in the NFL, and this past season, he suffered two concussions that kept him out for nine games.
From this point on, concussions will be a concern for the wide receiver. Whenever a ball is thrown his way, it is hard not to think what will happen to him once he touches it.
His quarterbacks are doing him no favors in that department.
During OTAs, footage surfaced of Saints QB Spencer Rattler not dealing with any pressure and still tossing a ball way too high that Chris Olave had to jump for.
That type of ball can get him killed and carted off the field.
Few players around the NFL have been involved in as much trade speculation this offseason as the New Orleans Saints’ Chris Olave.
With the Saints seemingly headed in the wrong direction, Olave would be their biggest trade prize to kick off their rebuild.
The 24-year-old former first-round pick already has two 1,000-yard receiving seasons under his belt, but also has a nasty injury history when it comes to concussions.
The Saints picked up Olave’s fifth-year option before the May 1 deadline, but that hasn’t prevented other teams from checking in on his availability.
The Browns reportedly reached out to the New Orleans Saints to explore a possible trade for standout wide receiver Chris Olave.
On a recent appearance on 92.3 The Fan, NFL analyst Albert Breer gave some insight into what he’s hearing behind the scenes.
“The Saints shut that down so fast. I don’t know how serious it ever got on either side,” Breer said. “There were a couple of teams that inquired about Olave. And the idea of it, I think, is intriguing. He’s got the concussion issue, which you’ve got to get a good read on that and kind of where he’s at.”
