Joy Taylor has landed in hot water this week after taking aim at Aaron Rodgers on FS1’s Speak, and NFL fans aren’t letting it slide.
During Tuesday’s episode, Taylor launched into a passionate monologue criticizing Rodgers for missing the Pittsburgh Steelers’ opening OTA session. But there’s a catch- Rodgers isn’t even signed with the team.
That didn’t stop Taylor from lighting him up***. “They have six Lombardis… and we’re sitting around talking about Aaron Rodgers not there on the first day of OTAs,”*** she said. “Where is your pride? Where is your dignity?”
Her co-hosts Keyshawn Johnson and Paul Pierce sat by as she doubled down.
“He’s never played there before. He doesn’t know the streets to get to the facility. He doesn’t know the doctors. He doesn’t know anybody!”
NFL fans weren’t having it. As soon as the segment aired, backlash poured in online, calling Taylor’s comments unfair and misinformed. Rodgers, 41, remains a free agent and hasn’t committed to playing in 2025. Though he visited Pittsburgh earlier this offseason and has been linked to the team, he’s yet to sign a deal or even confirm his return to the league. OTAs, by the way, are voluntary.

The irony of Taylor’s frustration didn’t go unnoticed. Critics pointed out that Rodgers can’t attend OTAs with the Steelers unless he’s officially part of the roster. That simple fact undercut the heart of Taylor’s rant and fueled the perception that she was stirring controversy for the sake of airtime.
Her comments struck a nerve in a fan base already fatigued by media hot takes. Many argue that holding a player accountable for missing practice with a team he doesn’t belong to is more performative than informative.
Fox Sports has not commented on the controversy, but fan sentiment is loud and clear. If Rodgers eventually signs with Pittsburgh, the conversation may shift. For now, though, many viewers feel Taylor missed the mark, and they’re calling for consequences.
