Even Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback Joe Burrow admitted that he was surprised by the stunning trade that landed the Green Bay Packers star pass rusher Micah Parsons just before the start of the 2025 NFL season.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, the former LSU Tigers star signal-caller said that he does not see himself suiting up for another team in the 2026 NFL season amid trade rumors following his comments after Cincinnati’s 24-0 loss at home to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 15.
However, Burrow also said that “crazy things can happen,” while referencing the Parsons trade.
“Micah Parsons got traded right before the season. That is something I haven’t seen in a long time in the NFL, so crazy things can happen,” Burrow said (via a video of the press conference shared by Adam Schefter of ESPN).
Indeed. The Dallas Cowboys’ decision to trade the 4-time Pro Bowler Parsons to the Packers shook the ground of the NFL world. In return, the Cowboys got veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark and a couple of future first-round picks, as they chose to go that route instead of just giving the former Penn State Nittany Lions star the extension contract that he was looking for.
Using Parsons as an example, it’s fair to say that no one is really safe from getting traded in the NFL, and Burrow seems to be very aware of that.
The Packers, however, will not have Parsons on the field for the rest of the 2025 campaign after he suffered a torn ACL injury in Week 15’s Green Bay loss to the Denver Broncos.
