ESPN’s Joe Buck and Malika Andrews are set for another short-term gig under the Disney umbrella this summer.

Buck and Andrews are two of the most popular faces on sports television, having been at the forefront of commentary on the network’s coverage of NFL football and NBA basketball.

And they’re now scheduled to show up elsewhere as Front Office Sports has learned that Buck will be a guest cohost on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ from July 23 to July 25, which will follow appearances in the same role for Malika, who will be on the morning talk show this coming Saturday and Sunday and will also be on the ‘GMA3’ digital program on Monday.

“An ESPN spokesperson confirmed to Front Office Sports that Malika Andrews will be a guest cohost on the morning talk show this Saturday and Sunday, and on the GMA3 digital program next Monday,” the outlet reports. “Joe Buck will also fill in on GMA from July 23–25.”

Other ESPN Personalities Could Follow Joe Buck and Malika Andrews

FOS adds that, per sources, Elle Duncan and Laura Rutledge have also discussed setting up dates to appear on the show later in the summer.

‘GMA’ has been handing out guest-host spots as part of an ongoing trend in which morning news shows and other entertainment programs have been more open to the involvement of personalities from the sports side.

The likes of regular hosts Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts both have sporting backgrounds.

NBC also had Mike Tirico guest-host their ‘Today’ show for a week earlier this year, while former NBA superstar Dwyane Wade guest-hosted its third hour on Monday.

According to one industry source, sports broadcasters have gained more respect for their abilities due to their habit of handling unforeseen events on the fly.
