You know it’s getting real when insiders start calling each other out by name. NFL drama doesn’t stop on the field, it spills right into the media rooms, too. And this time, it’s Adam Schefter on the hot seat, with Mike Florio firing the shots.
Florio, never shy about making comments, took direct aim at Schefter during his latest PFT Live show with Chris Simms. The topic? Christian Wilkins’ messy release from the Raiders. Florio’s not buying Schefter’s version of events, and he’s not being quiet about why.
According to Florio, Schefter’s info on the Wilkins release didn’t come from inside the Raiders’ building but straight from Wilkins’ agent, David Mulugheta. Florio didn’t tiptoe around it, either.
“Let’s call it what it is,” he said. “David Mulugheta represents Christian Wilkins. He’s working Schefty to get Schefty to put a story out there that is favorable to Christian Wilkins.”
This video is a WOW! 👀

That’s not all. Florio cleared things even further on how the insider world works.
“Why does the reporter do it? Because it pays off on the back end,” he said. “When Micah Parsons signs his deal, Schefter may be the first to report it. It’s the same agent.”
In short, Florio claims Schefter is playing the long game, giving the agent what he wants now get the scoop later.
If true, that’s a problem. But it’s not a new accusation. Florio and Schefter have butted heads before. Just last December, Florio accused Schefter of acting as a mouthpiece for Pete Carroll’s agent. Schefter replied back on X, saying, “Everything you say here is 100 percent wrong. Keep up the guess work and Merry Christmas.”
So far, Schefter hasn’t responded to the latest jab. But if history’s any guide, he probably will.
As for Christian Wilkins, the situation remains a bit dark. The Raiders voided guarantees on his massive $110 million deal, and the NFLPA has filed a grievance on his behalf. What exactly happened behind the scenes? That’s still unclear.
But one thing’s obvious, when NFL insiders go to war, it’s as interesting as anything you’ll see on Sunday.
