ESPN’s Adam Schefter is getting crushed by NFL fans. Earlier this week, NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson revealed that commercials will be featured on RedZone next year, months after NFL media was acquired by ESPN.
For the upcoming NFL season, rather than using his traditional catchphrase of “seven hours of commercial-free football starts now,” Hanson said the new slogan each Sunday will be “seven hours of RedZone football starts now.”

A day after Hanson’s comments, ESPN’s Adam Schefter defended RedZone’s commercials, revealing that there will only be a minute or two of commercials per seven hours of football.
“Some added clarity: NFL RedZone is seven hours — 420 minutes. Over that time, viewers will be served 1-2 total minutes of ads in :15 increments. This comes out to anywhere between 0.25% – 0.5% of the total time, considerably less than other sports/entertainment programs.”

Fans immediately blasted Schefter for trying to defend the NFL for adding commercials to RedZone.
