After nearly two decades in Louisiana sports media, T-Bob Hebert is packing his bags. The longtime voice of “Off the Bench” on 104.5 ESPN Baton Rouge is heading to Chicago for a new role with Barstool Sports.

Hebert, who joined the station in 2017, announced on Wednesday. A familiar voice in local sports talk, he first made waves alongside Jordy Culotta.

Later, he teamed up with former NFL fullback Jacob Hester. Their on-air chemistry quickly clicked and energized listeners. Together, they turned “Off the Bench” into a Baton Rouge favorite. The show earned the Louisiana Broadcasters’ Best Sports Talk Show award in 2022.

T-Bob’s Next Chapter

Hebert’s departure marks the end of a memorable run. Over the years, he built a loyal following by combining sharp sports analysis with his signature humor and energy. In 2024, the Baton Rouge Area Chamber named him Young Professional of the Year, a nod to his growing influence both on and off the mic.

Now, he’s heading north. Barstool Sports has hired Hebert for a new role in its Chicago office, reflecting his rising national profile.

“I am so grateful for the 18 years I have spent here in Louisiana,” Hebert said in a statement shared by LouisianaSports.Net. “I want to thank everyone I’ve ever worked with on Off the Bench and all of its amazing iterations.”

Among those he praised were Rivers, Taylor, Alondra, Danny, Nathan, and Culotta for their support and collaboration. A special nod went to Dianne Newman and WWL, who gave him his first big break. Joining the ESPN family through Guaranty Media was another moment he deeply appreciated. He wrapped it up by thanking Matt Moscona for welcoming him onto Whiskey and Wine.

Most notably, he acknowledged co-host Jacob Hester, saying, “I want to thank Jake Hester for joining me in my time of need and pushing OTB up to the seventh-ranked mid-market local morning sports talk show.”

Hester, who will remain with “Off the Bench,” praised Hebert’s departure as bittersweet. “Barstool Chicago is getting a true original—smart, hilarious, and one of the most talented voices in sports media,” he said. “We’ve had an incredible five-year run. I’m proud to call him my friend and fired up for what’s next.” Hebert’s final show airs Friday, May 16.
