Buffalo Rumblings
Training camp will be here before we know it — it starts next Wednesday! — and the Buffalo Bills will be back at St. John Fisher University. For me, the start of training camp always means that it’s time to start preparing for fantasy football drafts, and the expectations around the Bills.
It should come as no surprise that ESPN experts have kept expectations in check for the Bills wide receivers. The group has received scrutiny in the past, and president of football operations/general manager Brandon Beane has added some new faces to the mix. Despite there being a bit of an overhaul, only two Bills have cracked ESPN’s top 60.
The first Bills receiver on the list is DJ Moore, who Beane acquired prior to the draft for the team’s second round pick. While that move immediately vaulted Moore into Buffalo’s top wide receiver slot, the expectations are in check heading into this season. With ESPN, Moore is currently ranked 27th on the list of 60, just behind his former Chicago Bears teammates Rome Odunze (25) and Luther Burden (26).
Despite being a borderline WR2 in fantasy football, the statistical projections for Moore show quite a bump in Buffalo. ESPN has Moore projected going for 946 yards on 67 receptions (with 7 touchdowns). Personally, I would be pleased with that type of performance from Moore in 2026.
The other Bills wide receiver to crack the list is Khalil Shakir, who comes in at the 47 spot. This makes Shakir a bit more of a FLEX play, or a bye week fill-in. Statistically speaking, the projections remain pretty consistent for Shakir.
ESPN has Shakir finishing the 2026 season with 70 receptions and 765 yards (compared to 72 receptions for 719 yards in the 2025 season). While Shakir will offer consistency, with the occasional breakout week, you’re likely holding off until the late rounds to add him to your roster.
Be sure to share your thoughts on the projections for Moore and Shakir in the comments section below, and if there are other wide receivers on the team that you would consider drafting.
