Another midseason trade ends up as one of the top targets in consecutive offseasons.

The Seattle Seahawks are connected to the names of two defensive free agents this offseason.

The 33rd Team just released their Free Agency Rankings, and midseason trade linebacker Ernest Jones comes in as 16th-best on the market this winter.

Jones is the 10th-rated defensive player available this offseason, behind some notable stars like Khalil Mack and Charvarius Ward.

News has been silent of late, but last reports were that both the Seahawks and Jones are hoping to get a deal done to keep the linebacker in Seattle.

However, another defensive standout sits nearly atop The 33rd Team’s list.

Hello again old friend, D.J. Reed.

I have no idea what the Seahawks have budgeted for free agent cornerbacks this year; I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s close to zero. But it’s actually a need, and John Schneider was the one who discovered Reed in the first place, before he priced himself out of the West Coast in 2022.

Two months to go before these speculations start becoming legal, and it would be nice to see Schneider leave linebacker not quite so empty as late in the Spring as last year.
