Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews has addressed the bizarre accusations from some disgruntled fans about her interview with Jalen Hurts after Super Bowl 59.

Erin Andrews called Super Bowl 59 with play-by-play voice Kevin Burkhardt and $375 million analyst Tom Brady. Andrews got to speak with Hurts on the field after he led the Eagles to a stunning 40-22 blowout win over the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs in the big game.

It was just another player interview conducted by Andrews, but some fans accused her of lacking enthusiasm toward Hurts. This led to some suggesting that she was simply upset about the Chiefs losing.

For context, here’s their post-game interview:

Erin Andrews clapped back at the trolls during the latest episode of the “Calm Down” podcast that she co-hosts with Charissa Thompson. Andrews teased that she wanted both teams to win, before explaining why she went with a “chill” approach for the interview with the Super Bowl 56 MVP:

“I saw somebody, quote, f**k the internet trolls, ‘you could tell Erin in her Jalen Hurts interview was disappointed that Kansas City didn’t win’. I’m disappointed both teams didn’t win. I actually was trying to slow down, be chill instead of being like, ‘Jalen, what does it mean.’

I was trying to be calm and like, because he’s f*****g calm. He’s not crazy and ‘rah rah’. So I was like, ‘Jalen, we talked about…’ you know? Because you don’t want the high pitch voice. Whatever you do you’re damned if you do, you’re damned if you don’t.”

In Andrews’ defense, you probably would have had plenty of fans accusing her of being upset about the Eagles losing if she was interviewing Patrick Mahomes, had Kansas City emerged victorious.

Hurts was named the Super Bowl 59 MVP after completing 17 of 22 pass attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns along with a game-high 72 rushing yards and a rushing score.

Erin Andrews Completes Fifth Super Bowl Assignment With Fox

Last Sunday marked the fifth Super Bowl that the 46-year-old Andrews worked for Fox. She was also on the air for Super Bowl 48 (Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos), Super Bowl 51 (New England Patriots vs. Atlanta Falcons), Super Bowl 54 (Chiefs vs. San Francisco 49ers) and Super Bowl 57 (Eagles vs. Chiefs).

It’s now a long seven-month wait until the start of the 2025 NFL season. Andrews, Burkhardt and Fox will be assigned “America’s Game of the Week” in Week 1 on Sept. 7.
