The futures of Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson at Fox Sports had been up in the air since the conclusion of the 2024 NFL season.
Erin Andrews and Charissa Thompson, who co-host the popular “Calm Down” podcast, announced in February that their contracts with Fox Sports expired after Super Bowl 59. The futures of both were unclear, since it’s rare for major networks to let marquee on-air talents test free agency and entertain offers from rival companies.
After a five-month mystery, however, the verdict is in: Both are staying put.
According to Ryan Glasspiegel and Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, Andrews and Thompson have signed “lucrative” extensions with Fox Sports with the 2025 NFL season now less than two months away.
The exact length of their contracts isn’t clear at this time, but they’re presumably multi-year deals. Andrews has been a sideline reporter at Fox Sports since 2012, working on the network’s top team (previously Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, now Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady).
Charissa Thompson’s first stint with Fox Sports lasted from 2007 to 2010, before moving to ESPN for three years. After leaving the Worldwide Leader in Sports in 2013, Thompson returned to Fox, where she has since remained.
In 2022, Thompson was hired to join Amazon Prime Video’s coverage of “Thursday Night Football.” They took over the broadcasts for TNF that year after Fox decided against renewing its broadcast deal for the package.
Andrews will continue her role as the sideline reporter for Fox’s top commentary team with Brady and Burkhardt, who are about to begin their second season together. Brady began his 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox Sports last year, and the network ended the season as the broadcasters for Super Bowl 59.
