Eagles Writer Just Gave Cowboys Fans a Reason to Believe in 2026
Inside The Star Inside The Star

I don’t need anyone from the Philadelphia Eagles to make me feel good about the Cowboys. Most of the time, I’d rather not hear from them at all.

But Tim McManus said something that got my attention. He pointed out Philly could have some growing pains while Dallas is much closer to rolling through the season, and if someone from Philadelphia says that about the Cowboys. There’s something there.

We also get to look forward to the Eagles trying to change the offensive philosophy with new coordinator Sean Mannion. They are going to try, keyword try, to add more motion, play-action, and disguises to their game.

A.J. Brown got shipped to New England and that in itself is a major blow.

Brown was their guy, and now he’s off the chess board and Jalen Hurts doesn’t like learning new concepts that make him think too much. All in all, this is a win for the Dallas Cowboys.

I’m Not Going to Give the Eagles a Free Pass

The Eagles aren’t finished. They will still be a very competitive team.

Jalen Hurts still has the ability to make some noise, Saquon Barkley is always a problem, and DeVonta Smith can still catch the ball. Oh, and don’t forget about the offensive line. They’re still monsters up in Philadelphia.

The problem they will run into is that Hurts likes plays that are simple. He wants easy throws that will turn into big plays. He doesn’t want to work for yards through the air because he isn’t the best at going through the progressions.

Now they are going to want him to play more structured in the passing game without A.J. Brown to bail him out.

Maybe Hurts handles it. Who knows, maybe by Thanksgiving nobody cares about this article.

I want Dallas to get to the top of the division before the Eagles figure it out, and to be honest, I hope the wheels fall off in Philadelphia, and they show that world-famous brotherly love, heavy sarcasm there, to each other.

Dallas Should Be Ahead of This

Christian Parker has plenty to fix on defense and there is no way I can ignore that aspect.

Every level has to be better, the defensive line to the secondary has been overhauled with new players, and it will take time, but I feel better about this than what the Eagles are facing.

The Dallas defense needed a shake-up after the monumental let-down last season, but the offense shouldn’t be searching for anything except better numbers in the red zone.

We know what Dak is, CeeDee is the guy, Pickens is the guy behind the guy, Ferguson can take care of business, and Javonte Williams can run the rock. This group doesn’t need a new identity.

I just want this side of the ball to stay healthy, stop wasting good...
