The Dallas Cowboys’ blockbuster trade for star wide receiver George Pickens has put A.J. Brown on notice.

After the 2025 NFL Draft, the Cowboys acquired Pickens and a 2027 sixth-round pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for 2026 third and 2027 fifth-round picks. The Pickens acquisition finally put an end to Dallas’ search for a No. 2 receiver to complement CeeDee Lamb.

If he didn’t miss three games last season, Pickens would have likely exceeded 1,000 receiving yards for the second straight year. The highlight reel catch specialist had 59 catches for 900 yards and three touchdowns last season.

Speaking to fans on his YouTube channel, A.J. Brown admitted that he views the Cowboys as a problem in the wake of the Pickens trade:

“We’re going to have to worry about (Dallas), for sure. We’re going to have to worry about them. No, I like the trade. I do like the trade. I like the competition. I like George Pickens, I like CeeDee Lamb. And they collab. It’s going to be exciting to watch. Because all that does is bring the best out of us. So, if we know how they coming, we are going to have to step it up.”

Of course, the Eagles are still the team to beat in the NFC East after soundly defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. But the Pickens trade still helps Dallas reduce the gap with Philly and the other top NFC clubs.

Despite missing four games, A.J. Brown caught 67 passes for 1,079 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He exceeded the 80-catch and 1,400-yard marks in his first two seasons with Philly.

Brown and the Eagles won’t have to wait long to see the new-look Cowboys with Pickens, CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott. The defending champions will hang their banner in the NFL Kickoff Game on Sept. 4, with the rival Cowboys coming to town.

Prescott has had the Eagles’ number during his career, but he missed both meetings last year after undergoing season-ending surgery on a hamstring injury. We’ll find out soon enough if Dak and company can deliver a rare road team victory in the NFL Kickoff Game.
