The Philadelphia Eagles surprised and even shocked a lot of people by not only beating the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX but also by embarrassing them.
The Eagles jumped out to a 34-0 lead in the third quarter and left Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes flabbergasted like he hadn’t been in a long time, and the 40-22 final score doesn’t tell the story of how badly they defeated Kansas City.
In the aftermath, the Eagles have put up some impressive numbers in another area as well.
“According to Fanatics, the Eagles have set a record for merchandise sales by a Super Bowl champion in the first 24 hours after a title clinch. The Eagles are also Fanatics’ best-selling champion across all sports for the first 24 hours post-championship clinch,” Tim McManus of ESPN wrote on X.

Most expected this Super Bowl to be a close and hard-fought contest, and the Chiefs, who came in as the two-time defending champions, were favored by a very slight margin.
But the Eagles defense was able to harass Mahomes into two interceptions and six sacks despite rushing just four men.
Offensively, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts put to rest any doubts he could win a big game with his arm by completing 17 of 22 pass attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns, and added another touchdown on the ground.
Philadelphia was able to win easily even though running back Saquon Barkley, who had a season for the ages, was held to a modest 57 rushing yards on 25 attempts.
Their fans will continue to celebrate for a while, but not too long from now, the Eagles will have to start over by beginning their quest for back-to-back Vince Lombardi Trophies.
