The Philadelphia Eagles may have the boldest general manager in the game.

Howie Roseman isn’t afraid to swing for the fences and be aggressive to get deals done.

Likewise, he’s routinely made trades with direct rivals and even divisional rivals.

That’s why it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to hear that he wanted to join the Micah Parsons sweepstakes.

According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Eagles actually tried to trade for the Penn State product.

As expected, Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys had no interest in trading him to a divisional rival.

“One team that made a strong play this summer to try to trade for All-Pro linebacker Micah Parsons was none other than the Philadelphia Eagles, per league sources. The Eagles called the Cowboys to see if they could acquire Parsons and bring him back to Pennsylvania. But the Cowboys had no interest in trading Parsons in the division, especially to the defending Super-Bowl champion Eagles, whom they open with tonight,” Schefter posted on X.

As a result, the Green Bay Packers swooped right in to make an offer the Cowboys simply couldn’t refuse at this point in the offseason.

They proceeded to give Parsons the type of lofty contract extension he was looking for.

The Packers have now joined the conversation of Super Bowl contenders with Parsons’ addition, all while the Cowboys have lost their best player.

However, they simply couldn’t afford for Parsons to land in Philadelphia; it didn’t matter how good an offer they could make.

Also, the Eagles may have had a tough time accommodating his extension on their payroll.

The Eagles already have one of the strongest rosters and defenses in the game, and they should be considered the team to beat until proven otherwise.

Giving them one of the best pass-rushers in the league would’ve only inched them closer to not only winning another ring this season but also potentially becoming a dynasty.
