Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Jalyx Hunt was the final victim of the NFL crackdown on violent gestures during the 2024/25 season but his wallet did not have to suffer. Rob McElhenney and countless other fans offered the pick up the tab!
However, he decided to direct their money toward a great local cause instead.
Hunt, a rookie, made general manager Howie Roseman look like a genius. He burst onto the scene with 21 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two forced fumbles during the NFL regular season as a third-round pick out of Cornell and Houston Christian/Baptist. However, it was his play during the playoffs that really made the difference. The 23-year-old recorded 10 tackles and 1.5 sacks in four games.
Perhaps the biggest tackle of his young career took place during the second quarter of the Super Bowl. Hunt collapsed the pocket with his pass rush and got to Patrick Mahomes for the (half) sack.
As soon as he returned to his feet, the 6-foot-4, 252-pound linebacker pulled an imaginary arrow from his imaginary quiver and pretended to shoot it from a bow. It was a classic bow-and-arrow celebration.
