The Philadelphia Eagles did not have the start to their Super Bowl defense that they imagined. On the opening kickoff of the season vs. the Dallas Cowboys, fullback and special teams player Ben VanSumeran suffered a leg injury. While he lay on the ground, Eagles star edge rusher Jalen Carter got into it with a couple members of the Cowboys.

That led to Carter spitting on Dak Prescott, prompting a personal foul and ejection from the game.

It is a wild start to the season. Within minutes, Dallas marched down the field for the first touchdown of the 2025 NFL season.

Not how the Eagles hoped to start their season.

This is a developing story with more to follow.
