The Philadelphia Eagles might not need to be without one of their best players for much longer. They may have dodged a massive bullet.
As reported by Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Lane Johnson will not have to be placed on Injured Reserve. He won’t require surgery, and he might be back within four weeks after suffering a Lisfranc injury to his right foot on the team’s win over the Detroit Lions.
#Eagles didn’t place Lane Johnson on injured reserve today because he won’t need surgery and there’s a good chance he could return within four games after suffering a Lisfranc injury to his right foot on Sunday, NFL sources said.

Per McLane, Johnson was initially expected to be out 4-6 weeks. He could now miss just three games, meaning that he could be back on the field as soon as December 14 against the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Eagles used Fred Johnson at right tackle in Johnson’s absence, and he should continue to hold onto that spot in the meantime. While not as elite as the future Hall of Famer, he did a solid job of holding down the fort once Johnson left the field.
Nick Sirianni’s team has made the rounds for the wrong reasons lately. Despite their winning record, people continue to focus on their pedestrian offense and all the narratives surrounding Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown.
They will now face a tough challenge in a divisional matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. And while they’ve usually fared well against divisional rivals, the Cowboys revamped their defense, and Dak Prescott has usually thrived against Philadelphia.
Not having Lane Johnson there could be an issue. Fortunately, he’s not going to be away from the team for as long as expected.
