Eagles’ A.J. Brown Becomes Distraction Again After Latest Social Media Post

Another week, another cryptic A.J. Brown social media post. And this time, the Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver waited until after his best game of the season to stir the pot.

In the Eagles’ 28-22 win over the Minnesota Vikings, Brown had four catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns. This came after the offense has been struggling under new coordinator Kevin Patullo. Saquon Barkley still doesn’t have a 100-yard rushing game seven weeks into the season, but Jalen Hurts got going connecting with Brown and DeVonta Smith (nine catches for 183 yards and one score), finishing 19-of-23 with 326 yards and three passing touchdowns.

Even though the vibes seemed back after the win and the return of Brandon Graham, Brown squashed that with his Instagram post.

“Using me but not using me,” said Brown.

Latest Chapter in Ongoing Saga

This is just the latest drama surrounding the All-Pro wide receiver. Following the Eagles’ Week 4 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he had just two receptions for seven yards, Brown posted a biblical passage on X that read: “If you’re not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don’t make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.”

The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reported Brown directed the post “at someone or someones internally with the Eagles,” but the Pro Bowl receiver said that wasn’t the case.

“My message on Twitter wasn’t directed to anyone in the building. Not my coaches, not my quarterback, not my GM, nobody,” Brown said earlier this month. “Like I said, I take full accountability.”

But the drama didn’t stop there. After it was reported prior to the Eagles’ Week 6 upset loss to the New York Giants that Hurts, Barkley and Brown had a meeting, the wide receiver added to the confusion, saying there wasn’t a meeting whatsoever.

“Just to clear this up. That wasn’t a meeting or a sit-down. I said ‘I don’t recall’ because it got painted like there was tension and Sa had to step in. That’s not true. I was walking to my car, saw them, and stopped to talk. Nothing more,” Brown posted on X.

Brown and his teammates will surely be asked about his latest social media post when practice begins Wednesday. It’s another distraction the Eagles didn’t need as they head into Sunday’s Week 8 matchup against the Giants.
