EA Sports has quietly pulled a song from the ‘Madden 26’ soundtrack amid a murder investigation.
It appears the publishers have purposely distanced themselves from David Burke, A.K.A. d4vd, while the authorities continue to probe the death of Celeste Rivas.
The singer, who went viral for faceplanting at Coachella back in April, got one of his songs to feature on the latest iteration of the popular video game franchise.
His “What Are You Waiting For” was definitely on there when the game launched in August. It’s not there right now.
EA did not offer a reason, but TMZ has suggested that it is related to the Rivas investigation.
Remains of the 14-year-old’s body were discovered inside a Tesla belonging to d4vd abandoned in the Hollywood Hills in September.
It’s believed that Burke had known Rivas before her death. Photographs of them together were reportedly found after her body was identified. They are said to have had matching tattoos, with her mother also claiming she had a boyfriend named “David.”**
Rivas’ brother said she went missing sometime after the artist picked her up in his Tesla.
Burke, 20, is a suspect in Rivas’ death. TMZ notes that there’s no paperwork classifying him as such, but they’ve been told by a source that “Investigators are looking at D4vd as a suspect.”
He is also expected to be indicted, with a grand jury having convened in November.
The 20-year-old has had previous partnerships with video games. He created the official 2025 anthem, “Locked and Loaded,” for ‘Fortnite’.
He hasn’t spoken publicly on the investigation.
