Every year, EA runs a promotion in their Madden NFL game the two weeks before Halloween known as “Most Feared”. This year is no exception. Today on a twitch stream at 5:30pm ET right before a Madden Championship Series tournament, the first batch of “cards” were revealed.
For the uninitiated: Madden Ultimate Team is EA’s microtransaction cash cow that takes money from your wallet and replaces it with tiny dopamine hits as you virtually rip open trading card packs to try and build the best possible football team.
The Halloween promotion is always centered around players, both current and former, that are considered “scary”. Last year saw Bijan Robinson and Chris Jones featured as current champions along with Kam Chancellor and Darrelle Revis as formerly feared players. Madden 24 included Night Train Lane, a feared corner who himself was afraid of planes. Madden 23 had on field and off the field terrorizer Ray Lewis.
This year’s promotion will have limited release Brian Dawkins and Mike Evans. That means they will only be available in the legal gambling gacha packs for a few days.
As this promotion relates to people building Green Bay Packers-themed teams: it’s almost useless.
Confirmed players with Packers chemistry are 80 overall RG Jordan Morgan, 82 overall SAM LB Eric Wilson, and 87 overall WR Jayden Reed.
Currently in the game is an 87 overall Jahri Evans legends card, so Morgan will be a backup to add chemistry.
Eric Wilson will be useful at the SAM position as currently the only options are 79 overall Isaiah McDuffie and a 90 overall Ted Hendricks. The Hendricks card could only be obtained by finishing in the highest level of the ranked head to head brackets.
Jayden Reed will automatically be WR3 on a Packers theme team that only includes people who actually played for the team. 90 overall Davante Adams and 87 overall Matthew Golden are both faster, however Reed has better ball carrier stats and run blocking. He will make a much better slot option than Golden if you run the ball outside the tackles.
