The college GPA of New England Patriots star quarterback Drake Maye has resurfaced ahead of the biggest game of his life.

Drake Maye and the Patriots take on the top-seeded Denver Broncos in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game. The winner will play the victor of the NFC Championship Game between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks.

It’s been quite the journey for Maye, who had two tremendous seasons at North Carolina before getting drafted third overall by the Patriots in 2024. Now, he’s one win away from leading the Pats to a surprise Super Bowl appearance.

Of course, Maye is more than a superstar athlete. He had to put the work into his studies at North Carolina. He received All-ACC Academic Team honors in 2023 and finished with a 3.2 GPA, according to EssentiallySports.

Drake Maye Looks To Put Another Cherry On Top Of His Breakout Season

The 2025 NFL MVP honors are down to Maye and Matthew Stafford. Of course, both would prefer a Super Bowl ring over an individual award.

Maye’s Patriots are a slight favorite over the host Broncos, who will be without starting quarterback Bo Nix. The latter suffered a season-ending ankle injury in last week’s Divisional Round win over the Buffalo Bills.

Mike Vrabel’s Patriots have exceeded expectations, and anything that happens from here is gravy. But what a story it would be if Maye could get the Patriots to the Super Bowl, considering where this team was just a year ago.
