On Monday, New England Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel responded to Cam Newton’s recent comments calling the team’s success “fool’s gold.”
It was quarterback Drake Maye’s turn on Wednesday.
The Patriots current signal-caller addressed New England’s former quarterback’s words during his weekly appearance on WEEI.
“I don’t even know what show he’s on,” Maye said. “I think they get paid to make remarks and make certain comments. So, I just worry about what people in our organization think, and worry about we think and what my teammates think. People are going to have different opinions. I’m just going out there on Sunday and worrying about ourselves.”
Maye’s words echo Vrabel’s comments, as the latter said on Monday: “It’s just (saying) things that get their attention. We are OK with that. I promise you, we were OK with it.”
The 9-2 Patriots travel to face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12 on Sunday.
