The New England Patriots are for real. The Pats won their seventh-straight game on Sunday in a Week 10 battle with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Drake Maye and Co. went on the road to Tampa and won 28-23 against a tough Bucs opponent. Maye didn’t play mistake-free football, but he made enough big plays to put his team in position to win, including a 72-yard touchdown pass to rookie wideout Kyle Williams in the first quarter.

Taken together with Maye’s 58-yard dart to DeMario Douglas in Week 9, Maye became the first Patriots QB since Tom Brady in 2017 to throw a 50-yard completion in back-to-back games, per Patriots Communications.

Maye also connected with Mack Hollins on a 54-yard completion in the fourth quarter.

Maye was 16-for-31 on the day with 270 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and an interception. The 23-year-old MVP frontrunner is now 205-for-286 on the season (71.7 completion percentage) with 2,555 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and five interceptions. He has a passer rating of 113.9 through 10 games.

Maye and the Patriots play three of their next four games at Gillette Stadium. First up will be a date at home against the New York Jets this Thursday. They’ll travel to Cincinnati the following week, followed by two home games against the New York Giants and Buffalo Bills, with a bye week in between (December 7).
