The New England Patriots have high hopes for their 2025 campaign, and that’s due in large part to second-year quarterback Drake Maye. While things didn’t go his way in 2024 as a rookie, there’s reason to believe things will be different during his sophomore campaign.

After being selected with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Maye initially started the year on the bench before eventually being handed the keys to the offense. In 13 games, he threw for 2,276 yards and 15 touchdowns, while also rushing for 421 yards and another pair of scores.

That Maye was able to do anything with the Patriots’ subpar offense last season is quite encouraging, and the front office spent the offseason working on making improvements. Stefon Diggs was the marquee free agent signing on this side of the ball, with rookies Will Campbell and TreVeyon Henderson also looking to make an immediate impact.

At the end of the day, the success of the offense rests on Maye’s shoulders. With the new season quickly approaching, Maye shared a quick two-word message alongside a slew of photos from recent events in his life, such as mandatory minicamp and his wedding to his longtime girlfriend, Ann Michael Hudson.

“Immaculate vibes,” Maye captioned the post.

With a new and improved supporting cast around him, there’s reason to believe that if Maye managed to make due with the lowly unit he had around him last year, he could take a big step forward in 2025.

While the Buffalo Bills remain a Super Bowl contender atop the AFC East, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets are big question marks alongside the Pats in the division. Add in New England’s schedule, which is ranked as one of the easiest in the league, and they could be a sneaky playoff contender next season.

If Maye can deliver the goods in 2025, New England could end up surprising a lot of folks. And based on the looks of his latest social media post, Maye is ready to go for the new season, which will be music to the ears of Patriots’ fans.
