Don’t let Jerry Jones fool you, the Dallas Cowboys could make this work
Inside The Star Inside The Star

Welp, the NFL season is officially over, and the Philadelphia Eagles denied the Kansas City Chiefs a chance at the first ever three-peat in history.

I know we all are hoping that seeing the Eagles win the Super Bowl will light some fire underneath Jerry Jones, but the fact of the matter is that just won’t happen.

With that said, after the game was over I was on twitter reading all of the reactions from people and something I found that was interesting was from David Helman.

https://twitter.com/davidhelman_/status/1888753661322641448 What’s That??

Every offseason we listen to Jerry talk about how they don’t have the money and can’t spend and everything else, yet the Eagles have 8 guys playing on a contract that’s worth $50 million or more in total.

Yes, you read that correctly. They have six guys making an average annual salary of $20 million or more, so keep this in mind the next time Jerry Jones comes out and says that the team is on a budget, don’t buy it.

The other problem is just the way the Cowboys front office does stuff. They waited way to long to sign CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott last season, they never do these deals early enough and beat other teams to save some money.

This team has over 20 pending free agents, and if we thought this season was bad, next year is going to be even worse.

Only three other NFL teams have a longer shot than Dallas to win the Super Bowl in 2026. The Giants, Saints and Panthers. How embarrassing is that?

https://twitter.com/davidhelman_/status/1870252879144956038 The Eagles won a Super Bowl, tore it all the way down, went back to the Super Bowl TWICE and now have won it AGAIN!

Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones have watched the Eagles run circles around the Cowboys and should be embarrassed!

Nonetheless, after saying all of that, this team could still make this type of stuff work. Let’s be honest, I think this entire fan base would be happy if Jerry tried to actually go in fully for one year and see what happens.

If they fail, then blow it up.

2025 Outlook

DeMarcus Lawrence, Eric Kendricks, Jourdan Lewis and Osa Odighizuwa are all due to hit the market this offseason and let’s not forget about Zack Martin, who doesn’t know what his future holds.

As many of you probably already know, Dak Prescott has a 2025 cap number of $89.89 million via the four-year extension he signed in September. CeeDee Lamb has a cap number of $35.45 million for the next season on the extension he signed in August.

So they have the highest paid QB and second highest paid WR in football. The only good news coming from that is that The Cowboys will restructure that deal and gain about $20 million in cap space.

https://twitter.com/ConnorNFLDraft/status/1856852685284122702 Right tackle Terence Steele is set to count $18.125 million against the cap next season. If the Cowboys designate him for a post-June...
