The Miami Dolphins waived tight end Tanner Conner on Thursday, the team announced. The move comes as the team prepares for their Week 10 contest against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. The Dolphins have Julian Hill and Greg Bulcich on the active roster at the tight end position still, while Chris Myarick and Hayden Rucci are on the practice squad. Hill has been limited in practice this week with an ankle injury that caused him to miss the last two games.
No corresponding move to fill Conner’s roster vacancy was announced.
Conner initially made the Dolphins’ active roster in 2022 as an undrafted free agent, then spent the 2023 season on the team’s practice squad. He was again on the active roster in 2024, appearing in eight games with one start and recording three receptions for 16 yards. This season, he had played in all nine games and had nine receptions for 91 yards.
Miami starting tight end Darren Waller is on injured reserve with a pectoral muscle issue. He is eligible to be activated from IR in Week 13.
If he clears waivers, the Dolphins could look to re-sign Conner to the practice squad. Miami hosts Buffalo at 1 p.m. Eastern on Sunday.
