On Thursday, ahead of Miami’s second joint practice with the Detroit Lions, the Dolphins signed offensive lineman Yodny Cajuste while placing fellow offensive lineman Germain Ifedi on the injured reserve list.

Ifedi was just signed to the Dolphins on August 3rd, but struggled mightily against the Chicago Bears in the team’s first preseason contest last Sunday. Today, we learned that he may have been dealing with an injury which could have been the cause for his poor performance.

Cajuste was drafted in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. Despite being with the club through the 2022 season, he played in just 17 games. After leaving New England, Cajuste signed with the New York Jets, but didn’t play a single game with the team after being injured that same offseason. He was released and signed with the New York Giants’ practice squad during the 2023 season, but never saw game action. Cajuste was once again injured the following offseason, which caused him to miss the entirety of the 2024 season.

We will continue to keep you updated with all things Miami Dolphins as the team prepares for their second preseason contest, this time against the Detroit Lions on Saturday.
