The Miami Dolphins are signing center Aaron Brewer to a three year, $52.5 million extension. Brewer is now one of the league’s highest paid centers.
The six-year veteran was set to be an unrestricted free agent in 2027, having signed a three year deal worth $21 million with the Dolphins in 2024.
After going undrafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, Brewer signed as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans that season. By 2022, he was an established starter and started 34 games in his last two seasons with the team. His performances earned him move to the Dolphins, who needed a quick, agile center such as Brewer to operate in Mike McDaniel’s wide-zone scheme.
Though McDaniel has departed as head coach, Brewer’s importance to the team cannot be understated. New general manager Jon Eric Sullivan spoke about Brewer being a “building block” for the team. “Brewer’s ability to play out in space, snap, step, reach, get to the second level, and he plays much bigger than his listed size”, said Sullivan.
Brewer was named to the NFLs All-Pro Second Team in 2025, his first major individual award in his career. He was also finalist for the NFL’s Protector of the Year Award. The deal now keeps him in Miami through the 2029 season.
