Dolphins Rumor Brings Terrible News for Fans That Want Mike McDaniel Gone

Despite another awful loss on Sunday, Miami Dolphins fans are not going to get what they want when it comes to head coach Mike McDaniel.

Miami’s season descended deeper into mediocrity in Week 7 because not only did they lose to a 1-5 Cleveland Browns team, but they had their doors blown off by a score of 31-6. Tua Tagovailoa was awful as he threw three interceptions and no touchdowns, and was benched late in the game. And the defense could not slow down a Browns offense that is one of the worst in the NFL.

It would be understandable if that was the last straw for Dolphins ownership and they ousted head coach Mike McDaniel. Especially since the move has been rumored for weeks. Well, that’s not happening, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Mike McDaniel record: 29-29

On Monday morning, the NFL insider claimed that his sources have informed him that, as of now, owner Stephen Ross has no intention of firing the coach he hired in 2022. Ross supposedly is just a big fan of McDaniel and really wants him to be their head coach going forward.

Rapoport claims only two things would make the Dolphins boss think differently. He needs blatant proof that the team has quit on the coach, because Week 7 clearly was not enough, or rumors that his captains and top players disrespected him and the team the last couple of years. The other red flag that Ross needs to see is McDaniel’s performance affects the team’s bottom line, and a lot more seats need to be empty at Hard Rock Stadium the rest of the season.

So, for those fans desperately wanting the team to oust McDaniel after getting one win after seven weeks, they will have to endure a lot more suffering before a change is made from the top.
