The Miami Dolphins announced the signing of cornerback Rasul Douglas on Wednesday, adding a veteran cornerback to the team’s roster. The news of the two sides agreeing to terms broke on Tuesday, but the deal was not made official until Wednesday, the day after roster cuts were made to reach the NFL’s 53-man regular-season limit.
Miami created roster space for Douglas by waiving safety Jordan Colbert.
The Philadelphia Eagles selected Douglas in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He has also played for the Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders (training camp only), Houston Texans (training camp only), Arizona Cardinals (practice squad only), Green Bay Packers, and Buffalo Bills. During his eight seasons, he has appeared in 120 games, including 80 starts, with 441 tackles, 79 passes defensed, 19 interceptions with three touchdowns, three forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, and two sacks.
Colbert was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dolphins in 2024. The Dolphins could look to sign Colbert to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
