Miami Dolphins running back De’Von Achane will return to action for his team in Week 15 against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football.

Achane suffered a rib injury during Miami’s 34-10 win over the New York Jets in Week 14 and did not return to action. An MRI revealed that he did not have any fractures. He was limited in practice early in the week, but will return to action against the Steelers, head coach Mike McDaniel said on Saturday.

Achane has had a breakout second half of the 2025 season, and has been a huge contributor to the Dolphins hot streak. Over the last four Miami games, even with leaving the Jets contest early, Achane has 520 rushing yards and is averaging 7.2 yards per carry.

A fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M, Achane had 800 yards as a rookie and 907 in 2024. He already has 1,126 this season, with four games remaining, and is fourth in the league in rushing yards, behind only Jonathan Taylor, James Cook and Bijan Robison.

The 5-foot-9, 191-pound back primarily uses his speed and ability to quickly get to the edge of the defense as his primary weapon.

“I think his speed makes him a weapon in space,” Steelers safety Kyle Dugger said on Friday. “Obviously, trying to get him out in space what they’re going to try to do.”

The Steelers have struggled in run defense all season, allowing 125.3 rushing yards per game — 21st in the league this season. Over the last two weeks, they have allowed 466 rushing yards to the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens, though those totals also include the contributions of rushing quarterbacks Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.

The Dolphins don’t have that, with quarterback Tua Tagovailoa rushing for just 42 yards on the season. The Steelers have done better in that scenario, holding Taylor to 45 yards rushing for the Indianapolis Colts on Nov. 2.
