Dolphins Fans Sound Off On Coaching Rumor
The Phinsider The Phinsider

As NFL teams head into their training camps, the media have their various lists of head coaches who are on the hot seat going into the 2025-2026 season. Our own Miami Dolphins have made just about every list, and with those lists comes the rumors of who might take over for various head coaches if they are, in fact, canned during or following this upcoming season. One of the rumors I have seen circulating on the internet a handful of times is that former Miami Dolphins and Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban may return to the team if McDaniel is let go. While this rumor seems very unlikely, this is the NFL, where rumors much stranger than that have come true. With that in mind, I asked the following question this past week:

If Stephen Ross were to go after Nick Saban to bring him once again back to South Florida to coach our Miami Dolphins, would you be okay with that, given all the time that has passed? Do you think the fan base as a whole would accept him back? What is your take on some of the other rumored possibilities to be the next head coach of the Dolphins? Who would you go after to turn this thing around if it were your sole decision?

Below are some of your thoughts and answers-

PhinsTifosi says no!

Not a chance in hell.

Gruden is a POS as a person and with the info out there would cause a toxic locker room because of him. He should be at Alcatraz (not to be confused with Auschwitz) with the other POS.

Satan is not NFL HC material. He knows how to lead boys in college, but not how to lead men that are making more pay in a year than he would make in 5 years.

I am with Miami7, if they ever became Miami HC, I would immediately stop being a fan.

Dolphster says there is no way Ross will go for that.

I don’t see any scenario in which Ross brings Satan back because he surely has to know what the fan base thinks of that guy. If for some reason he did, having Nick Satan as the HC of Miami again might be enough to make me give up my fandom.

krammm believes that Saban retired because he couldn't handle the new landscape of college football, where players are paid real money.

I feel Saban left Alabama is because he couldn’t keep up with the NIL money of the big boys. If he returns to coach college he’ll go where he can give big NIL money.

cyberflea seems like one that would openly protest!

N...O....NO! Saban was a quitter and liar with the Dolphins. Too old and a poor NFL coach.

Dolfan88 likes to beat around the bush.

Not NO but HELL NO!!!!

Dolfanjoe believes that I asked that question earlier.

Nick...
