Welcome to the first Chicago Bears game day open thread of the 2025 season! Kickoff is scheduled for Noon (CT) between the Bears and Miami Dolphins. And sure, it’s just practice, with no starters expected to play, but we get to see head coach Ben Johnson with the headset on and calling plays for the Navy and Orange.
That alone makes this must-see TV for me.
The Dolphins flew in early for a joint practice at Halas Hall three days ago, and if you missed that recap, you can catch up right here.
Chicago has a few position battles that may come into focus today, so I’ll be keeping an eye on left tackle, strong side linebacker, cornerback, and running back.
Also, we’re sure to get a Bears’ undrafted free agent or two who puts their stamp on this game with wide receiver JP Richardson, safety Major Burns, and linebacker Power Echols, the odds-on faves to do so.
