The Denver Broncos were one of the most well-rounded teams in the NFL last season. Vance Joseph led one of the best defenses in football, and Denver rode a quality offense led by Sean Payton calling the plays.
Nobody would have mistaken quarterback Bo Nix for one of the best signal-callers in the league, but the former first-round pick improved as the season went on and came up big late in games time after time. Nix’s late-game heroics were a big reason why the Broncos raced to the No. 1 seed in the AFC, and he came up huge in a Divisional Round win against the Buffalo Bills.
Unfortunately, Nix could not play in Denver’s AFC Championship loss to the New England Patriots due to a broken ankle, but he still earned the respect of his teammates. The national media and fans around the league still tell a different story. When you hear about the 2024 NFL Draft, Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels all come up before Nix.
Danny Parkins of FOX Sports doesn’t necessarily agree with that, and he made the case for Nix on Wednesday’s First Things First.
.@DannyParkins thinks Bo Nix isn't getting enough credit among the 2024 1st-round QBs

“Bo Nix needs better PR around him,” Parkins said. “Bo Nix, he’s in the AFC Championship Game, he breaks his ankle. … Bo Nix has more wins than [every QB in the 2024 class], more touchdowns than all of them, and more yards than all of them. I know Sean Payton loves him, and his teammates love him, and he seems to be a pretty fiery guy so maybe at some point he will start amplifying his own accomplishments. But I would look at that and say Bo Nix is just being way underserved in the marketplace of what this guy can actually be.”
Nix still probably isn’t ahead of that group. Maye nearly won the league MVP last season, and Daniels and Williams have all shown high-end traits that could make them franchise quarterbacks in the future. But Nix has proven that he deserves to be talked about among that group, and could very well be here for the long haul as the starter in Denver.
