Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver DK Metcalf was in no mood to further discuss his heated altercation with a Detroit Lions fan after Sunday’s roller-coaster of a game.

In the second quarter of Sunday’s pivotal road game against the Lions, cameras caught DK Metcalf exchanging words with a fan. A furious Metcalf then retaliated by punching the Detroit supporter in the face before walking away.

Metcalf was lucky that the NFL referees didn’t see it. Otherwise, he would have certainly been ejected. Metcalf was also lucky that his Steelers nearly avoided a stunning meltdown, barely holding on for a 29-24 victory.

The Steelers sure dodged a bullet with Pickens. What they really needed was a level headed, no nonsense WR like DK Metcalf. pic.twitter.com/GeoEHnbbl7

Unfortunately for the (many) curious fans, they’ll have to wait a little longer for DK Metcalf’s side of the story.

Per Steelers reporter Mike DeFabo of The Athletic, Metcalf left the locker room early without speaking to the media. Additionally, head coach Mike Tomlin declined to comment on the incident.

Metcalf will most certainly be suspended for at least one game. The Steelers visit the Cleveland Browns next Sunday, needing just one more win to clinch the division crown.
