DK weighs in on recent trade speculation and promotes a new baking show.

Well, it’s the offseason for the Seattle Seahawks, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still watch DK Metcalf compete. DK seemingly enjoys his extracurricular activities, from the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game to running the 100m dash. This time, however, we’ll find him in the kitchen. DK Metcalf will be joining fellow footballer Arik Armstead and Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez, as well as sports media personality Katie Nolan and actress Amy Smart as contestants on The Great American Baking Show: Celebrity Big Game—a spinoff of The Great British Bake Off.

You can watch DK on the Great American Baking Show: Celebrity Big Game ahead of this year’s Super Bowl on February 3 on The Roku Channel.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s chat about DK for a little bit. To help promote the bake-off, DK went on to fellow contestant Katie Nolan’s new podcast Casuals to chat about things. Katie’s a big New England Patriots fan and took a little time to address the rumors that New England might be interested in DK’s talents. “I think you would really like living in Massachusetts, do you agree?” she said.

“No,” DK replied.

“What? You couldn’t see yourself ever living in Massachusetts?”

“No, it’s not a desirable place, in my opinion,” DK replied—seemingly destroying any possibility of becoming a weapon for Drake Maye next season, which you love to see.

The New England Patriots are not the only potential target in the buzzing rumor mill surrounding DK Metcalf these days. Most recently, the LA Chargers have also had their hats tossed into the ring.

When Nolan asked about Pete Carroll returning to the league, DK said, “He’s a great coach, in my opinion, probably the best I’ve ever had.” Katie then went on to ask him if it would be weird to play against him—sort of like running into “an ex, but a good ex—one you’re still friends with—which we all have,” to which DK replied, “No, I don’t… but I think he’s gonna be great in his next landing spot in my opinion.”

Back to baking: It turns out DK really has a passion for it, according to this CBS Sports report from 2019:

If football didn’t work out, he was going to go to culinary school in Chicago. And his post-football plan is to open a restaurant. I think he can at least whoop Tony Gonzalez, who will probably be completely lost without his wife helping him out.

Oh, also, Zach Cherry, who plays Dylan on Severance, is co-hosting the show. Which is pretty cool.
