DK Metcalf Awarded for Violent Touchdown vs. Dolphins

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf has always been a physical specimen that is able to dish out a medieval amount of punishment. Now he has a scepter to go along with it.

Metcalf earned his first Angry Runs scepter for his performance on Monday Night Football, when he bulldozed his way though the Miami Dolphins secondary on his way to a fourth-quarter touchdown in Pittsburgh’s 28-15.

NFL Network host Kyle Brandt, who started Angry Runs in 2017 to showcase ballcarriers that take the physicality to the defense, awards an Angry Runs scepter each week to the nastiest, most violent offensive player.

This week, that was Metcalf, who just chucked aside Minkah Fitzpatrick, stepped through a second tackler and stiff-armed a third on his way to the end zone against the Dolphins on Monday night.

“He just little-boyed the guy,” fellow Steelers wide receiver Calvin Austin III said.

The award typically goes to running backs, but Metcalf is one of the rare wide receivers that can dish out the nasty like the biggest and baddest of the NFL.

Metcalf didn’t think too much of his performance on Monday.

“It was just football,” Metcalf said.

Metcalf is the second Steelers player to win an Angry Runs scepter this season, following tight end DarnelL Washington.
