DK Metcalf: Aaron Rodgers gets a lot of sh*t for no reason

The Pittsburgh Steelers made several additions during the offseason. Most notably, they have a new star quarterback-wide receiver duo. Pittsburgh traded for wide receiver DK Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks back in March. After months of speculation, quarterback Aaron Rodgers joined the team ahead of mandatory minicamp in late June.

The duo joined Cam Heyward on the latest episode of Not Just Football, and Metcalf went to bat for his quarterback when asked what it’s been like getting to know him.

“It’s great,” Metcalf said. “I will say it’s been a fun journey just to get to know him as a person off the field. The guy gets a lot of sh*t for no reason, in my eyes. He’s been nothing but nice.”

Rodgers admitted he understands some of the hate thrown his way.

“[There’s] some reasons,” Rodgers said with a sly smile. “I get some of it.”

Rodgers seemed to be hinting at some of his off-field activities, such as his documentary or his “hallucinogenic journeys” as he referred to them. However, Metcalf shot that down.

“Yeah, but it’s none of their business.”

The full episode features several topics, including Rodgers praising Metcalf’s work ethic, the four-time MVP’s process on deciding to come to Pittsburgh, and much more.
