The Chicago Bears got absolutely crushed by the Lions in Detroit on Sunday after Detroit put up 52 points on Chicago to beat the Bears by 31 points. While the Motor City was buzzing over the huge win, one diehard Chicago Bears fan was pounding the pavement after the loss to make good on a pledge.
Ultra runner and gym owner Chase Bandolik posted a video on TikTok prior to the Bears-Lions game pledging to run one mile for every point that Chicago lost by. A man of his word, after the Bears got crushed by the Lions he went out and started running.
In the video, he pledged that he would do this “for the entire season” and not just the Lions game. So while the Bears lost by 31 points which Chase ran after the game and posted proof of, the video suggested that the “Chicago Bears could destroy” this diehard fan’s legs this season.

The Detroit Lions social admin quickly got wind of this Bears fan’s pledge. They slid into the comments with “get to steppin’ bro” and that comment received 25.7K likes while the video itself was watched 763K+ times in 24 hours.
Last season, the Bears scored 310 points in the regular season and gave up 370 for a -60 point differential. All things considered, running 60 miles over the course of an NFL season is a cakewalk. Especially for an ultra runner. But having to run 31 miles after a Week 2 loss is brutal.
Chase shared a response video to the Detroit Lions’ comment with proof of the 31 mile run. He documented every mile in the clip and showed his watch afterward.

The Bears don’t have their first bye week until 3 weeks from now. Chicago faces Dallas at home next week and then travels to Las Vegas to face the Raiders before getting a rest week. I’ve got a ton of respect for Chase for going out and running 31 miles on a Sunday night and living up to his pledge after day 1.
On another note, the Detroit Lions paid a very special tribute to my late friend Andy Isaac who I worked with for years and spoke to daily for most of my adult life until his fight against cancer ended last March. Andy’s dear friend Sweta caught this tribute from the Lions’ social team on X.
He could always be seen saying ‘f— the Bears’ or ‘FTB’ for short when signing off videos. One of the greatest Detroit sports fans in the entire city, ‘FTB’ was a mantra.
On Sunday, the Lions honored him by spelling out ‘FTB <3 U Andy' and ending with a 'Faturday forever and always' tribute. Read the first letter of each post:
A big thank you to @Lions for this special tribute to @WorldofIsaac !!
